Pianos are made up of numerous moving parts, all of which eventually wear out with use. Depending on the condition of your piano, it’s possible to replace parts and start fresh. This work includes action regulation and voicing, and typically starts around $5000 and up.

Not only does your piano action contain numerous moving parts, those parts are all individually adjustable! If your piano feels like it’s making you work too hard to get the results you want, it’s possible that it’s time for an action regulation. This work typically takes a few days and starts around $1000. An average-use piano should be regulated approximately once every 10 years or less.

Hammer filing, lacquering and needling are all important to keeping hammers in the best condition for optimal sound quality.
