Since 2003, I have worked to refine my craft within the tradition of piano tuning and technology. Guided by skilled mentors, I have worked to bridge the language gap between pianist and piano technician. I love working together with the pianist to arrive at the “yes!” moment of loving their instrument.

After completing my BA in music (piano) at the University of Northern Iowa, I graduated with a Certificate in Piano Technology with Distinction from Western University (London, Ontario) in 2003.

I then began work as the Piano Technician for Interlochen Center for the Arts, until transitioning to the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance in 2005 as the Assistant Piano Technician under Bob Grijalva. In 2007 I moved to Tucson, AZ to become the Piano Technician for the University of Arizona’s School of Music, and held that position for 14 years until transitioning to full time self employment.

I have attended five week-long training sessions at the Steinway factory in Long Island, NY, as well as a week-long Steinway training session at Oberlin Conservatory. I have also participated in one-on-one Yamaha factory training in Long Beach, CA. In 2019 I began spending summers working as the piano technician for the Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson, WY.
